ooc: permissions

pythonissamAs a witch, Leonie obviously has magic and she has the bad kind. The kind with dark magic that she uses to hurt people so this is a permissions post that I guess will have two purposes: i) can she use her magic on your characters and ii) an AMA type post if you want to talk about her magic with me (everything else about Leonie, send it to the ic/ooc inbox please!) While all the details of her magic are over in her app there's one point that I wanted to have here too because it's important.
So to sum up, here's what I need/would like to know from you!
Personhood: is your character whole? Have they suffered damage to the body or more importantly to the spirit or the soul? Anything you think she might pick up, please let me know!
Herbs and lore: can she send your character things like hex bags and little potions/poisons/trinkets? The effect would last a week at longest and I would explain and discuss all of it with you prior to it being sent.
Scrying and reading: can she read the future of your character(s) and if so, what would you be comfortable with her seeing? What would you be comfortable with her discussing? Note: Leonie is under no compulsion to be truthful with what she sees unless she thinks it would hurt more to do so.
Technology: this would probably be minimal in the havens but are you okay with her sending you a little curse via the rune? Also, if she uses encryption talking to your character, it will be performed via magic on the rune rather than regular making stuff private.
Magic:
the scales: while this usually involves the raising of the dead, that's not the primary focus for Leonie. If Leonie used this on your character, it can be used to make someone serve her until she ends the spell or they die. More importantly, this sort of magic allows her to drain the life from someone sapping their physical strength, their spirit, even their soul until they're hers to command. Finally, she can 'hold' a life in her hands to cause massive soul and spirit damage to the person. Would you be okay with any of this for your character and if so, how much/how little?
the grasping hand: quite like the above but this magic sort of seeps into a person; i.e. Leonie can cast it into the air around her (like the protective spells on her home) and it has a whole range of things from weakness to paralysis that I would explain at the time of it being use. Would you be okay with this?
the clouded mind: these spells might look like mind spells but they wouldn't be classed as such by her even though they involve going into the 'head' in some aspects. It's a combination of the soul and the spirit that are primarily affected: confusion and disorientation, a victim plagued with nightmares in sleeping or waking, hallucinations (usually visual or auditory), nightmares someone can't wake from or they might be awake and trapped in them to the point they're experiencing another reality. Would you be okay with this?
Of course there are also combinations of all these things as well as the dream magic. The dream magic involves entering the dream of a person and I would prefer to discuss this if/when it comes up but if you would ever be okay with it, let me know!
Unless you request it, nothing will ever last any longer than a week! Every spell Leonie casts, she can undo as if it never happened, not that she will ever tell someone that. I apologise for the length, I know it's a lot to read through but I hope this explains everything in enough detail to be useful, again, any questions please ask!
A person in her world (or any person to Leonie really) is split into three parts:
All three of these need to be in balance or a person is not considered to be whole, a crucial part of how Léonie's particular magic works. The only exceptions to these rules are angels or demons, neither of whom possess souls as such (there is debate surrounding fallen angels and nephilim regarding whether or not they possess souls) given that angels were created prior to the existence of souls with the first demons being fallen angels and all other demons being humans who sould their souls or were corrupted. All three parts are connected in the end but the body is considered to be the least essential part as harm to it won't affect the soul and/or spirit to the same extent as harming either of those would do to the other as well as the body. The mind of course is also important but the definition varies between witches, usually depending on age, how old (or young) their bloodline is; the mind essentially encompasses all three but to witches, even spells that would look as though they work on the mind are working on the level of one of the other components or all three.

Other than that, yes, his body, specially his mind has been damaged and tempered with several times, to the point of affecting his memories. Some of them were altered from the very beginning by his own creator and might be impossible to recover, yet others are simply "locked" after suffering severe damage when he fell from space and into the earth.
This one is by far the hardest to explain, given that canon is very vague about what truly happened to Shadow then. There are hints that he died then and was brought back again by science. Perhaps it was only for a brief moment, but we'll never know.
